Originally designed in 1923, this example is from a limited edition made for the Museum of Modern Art in 1974. This design is in the permanent collection of MOMA. A master craftsman in the Bauhaus wood-carving workshop, sculptor Josef Hartwig became well known for his architectural chess set.

Queen: 2.25" h x 1.25" l x 1.25" diameter

Excellent original condition. Minor scratches and wear. The chess board is shown for display only and is not included.
